TEA TREE OIL

Tea Tree is a pure essential oil derived by steam distillation from the leaves of the Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) a plant which is native to Australia. The Aborigines were some of the first people to use the oil therapeutically for the treatment of cuts, abrasions and burns by simply crushing the leaves and applying them to the skin.

Today we know a lot more about the properties of tea tree particularly in relation to is antifungal and antiseptic properties. It is now used in variety of preparations including creams, ointments, balms, shampoos and lotions. It has become one of the most popular oils amongst pet owners and used in carefully formulated preparations to treat a wide range of problems in cats, dogs and horses.

Typically problems which respond to tea tree include localised areas of dermatitis and eczema, ringworm (a fungal infection), cuts and abrasions, burns as well as infected or slow healing wounds. Incorporated in shampoo other popular applications include in general grooming, treatment of dandruff and in repelling parasites.

SKIN BALM

Our Skin Balm has been developed as a traditional balm, which benefits in particular from the inclusion of Tea Tree Oil, which apart from its antiseptic qualities also stimulates the healing of wounds. Skin Balm also includes Poke Root, a strange looking weed, which grows in the United States and has been used to help with lumps and bumps on the skin, including cysts. It also displays an antiseptic action to help heal wounds.

EAR CLEANER

Denes Ear Cleaner is a general ear cleaner, which can be used regularly to help remove excessive wax. The inclusion of Tea Tree, with its anti bacterial and antifungal properties, combines with the anti inflammatory action of Chamomile to help soothe inflamed ears.

HOT ITCH LOTION

Our Hot Itch lotion has been formulated as a soothing lotion to cool skin and reduce the irritation and discomfort, which often results from skin problems. Tea Tree is a key ingredient with its antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral activities. Other ingredients include Blackberry, Blood Root, Musk Mallow, Carrot Oil and Juniper, all of which are well known for their useful properties in aiding the cooling and soothing processes.
